Award-winning writer and film director, Anthony Minghella gives this year's British Art Lecture for British Art Week and discusses the context and condition of visual culture in Britain today. Minghella has played a crucial role in reviving
the fortunes of the British film industry, with successes such as Truly, Madly, Deeply and The Talented Mr Ripley as well as The English Patient and Cold Mountain. He has written extensively for theatre, television and radio and is Chair of the British Film Institute. His Assumption is due to be released in 2004.
