Architecture and Design in the Bacon Era
Wednesday 1 October – Wednesday 22 October 2008
Francis Bacon worked at a time when continental modernism, in architecture as well as art, was reinvented in a British context. Both were concerned with city life, and the surface and texture of the visual landscape. As Bacon's centenary approaches, this series reflects upon how these ideas have developed both within and beyond his time.
