Sound art is a common topic for debate, and for some, its relationship to music is a matter of extreme contention. Many of the artists featured in Tate Triennial 2006: New British Art use music in their work. This panel discussion explores the contemporary relationship between art and music, and brings together conceptual artist Ryan Gander, who also has experience of managing bands; Mark Leckey, whose work includes videos, performance and sound-system installations; and Daria Martin, a filmmaker who also presents a performance, with New York-based electric harpist Zeena Parkins, at Tate Modern to coincide with the Triennial.
