Tate Triennial 2009 Prologue 4: Borders
Saturday 17 January 2009
Twenty First century culture has become an archipelago: no longer an entire continent, but islands of thoughts and forms, no longer a totality but separated fragments connected by unusual circuits. The artist is now a traveller who constantly trespasses the ancient borders existing between disciplines and formats. Passing from one linguistic system to another, decoding and recoding: cornerstones of an emerging system.
