Tim Marlow on Anthony Caro

Saturday 5 March 2005, 13.00–14.00

Tate Britain’s major Anthony Caro retrospective provides an opportunity to reconsider the career of an artist who has played a fundamental role in the development of twentieth-century sculpture. Tim Marlow, broadcaster and Director of Exhibitions at White Cube, London, leads a tour of the exhibition discussing Caro’s artistic career from his ground-breaking, abstract welded steel works of the 1960s, which developed and expanded the ‘language of sculpture’, to his 2001 Millennium Bridge commission which blurred the boundaries between art and architecture.
