BP SATURDAYS
BP Saturdays: Tiny Tate

Saturday 9 July 2005
10.30-15.00

Free admission (by invitation only)
For families with children of 5 and under living in SW1

Tiny Tate took place on Saturday 9 July 2005. Five hundred families and children from SW1 attended this free event.

The Clore Gallery lawn was transformed into a farmyard complete with turkeys, pigs, lambs, goats, chickens and a four week old donkey. The Manton lawn became a beach for sandcastle making with beach side attractions ranging from Punch and Judy to a mechanical dragon. Other events and activities included: Rough Sea an interactive installation inspired by Turner's paintings on display in room 42, which was created by theatre designer Soutra Gilmour and cinematographer Brian Tufano. The Chamber Tots wind trio from the Wigmore Hall composed music based on Marine Paintings and children were able to make instruments and play with the trio.

Tiny Tate also launched this year's SouthWest Fest 2005 officially launched by the Deputy Mayor of Westminster Dr Cyril Nemeth.
