1990
- Completes work on Night Movements, his first work comprising four separate parts.

- Visits Japan for the opening of his exhibitions and stats a series
of ‘paper sculptures’ at a paper workshop in Obama.
1991
- First major exhibition in Britain since 1984 at Tate Gallery, London.
1992
- Retrospective exhibition in the ancient Trajan’s Market in Rome.

- Obama paper works shown at Fuji Television Gallery, Tokyo

- Accepts first major French commission for new extension at Musée de Grenoble.
1993
- Works with ceramicist Hans Spinner at his workshop near Grasse in France.

- Awarded Praemium Imperiale Prize for Sculpture, Japan Art Association, Tokyo.
1994
- Exhibits The Trojan War at Kenwood House, London and Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wakefield.

- Solo exhibitions at André Emmerich Gallery, New York, Richard Gray Gallery, Chicago, and
Constantine Grimaldis Gallery, Baltimore.

- Undertakes commission from Henry Moore Sculpture Trust.
1995
- Caro’s largest retrospective opens the new Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo.
1996
- Makes new multi-part work, Promenade, for display in Tuileries Gardens, Paris.

- With architect Norman Foster and engineer Chris Wise, wins competition
for a new footbridge spanning the Thames from St Paul's to Tate Modern, London.
1997
- The Trojan War tours to Thessalonika and the National Gallery in Athens, Greece.

- Retrospective exhibition at Middleheim Sculpture Park, Antwerp.
1998
- Caro becomes the first contemporary sculptor to be shown at the National Gallery in London.
1999
- The Last Judgement is unveiled at 48th Venice Biennale.

- Returns to Ken Tyler’s paper workshop in New York and makes the ‘paper book’ series.
