Gerald Scarfe
Gerald Scarfe is one of Britain's best-known caricaturists. His 35-year career has included a regular slot in Private Eye, art work for Pink Floyd's film, The Wall, the title sequences for Yes Minister, and director of animation for Walt Disney's film, Hercules. In this event he talks to Richard Godfrey, curator of the James Gillray exhibition, about his own and Gillray's work, and about the overlaps between caricature and art.

Wednesday 4 July
Cartoonists in Conversation
Guardian cartoonists Steve Bell, Posy Simmonds (creator of Gemma Bovery), and Martin Rowson join the writer and critic, Frank Whitford to talk about the role of caricature in the past and today. They review highlights of their own work and look back on examples by Gillray and others in order to discuss how the language and concerns of graphic satire have developed and changed over the past three hundred years.
