Fulton has said: 'My art is about specific places and particular events that are not present in the gallery. The given information is very minimal. My hope is that the viewer will create a feeling, an impression in his or her own mind, based on whatever my art can provide.'

walking journey presents a selection of Fulton's work of the last decade. The exhibition is arranged by theme and medium rather than chronology. While the focus is on his output of the last ten years, some sense of Fulton's development is given by the inclusion of certain key earlier works, and a group of important photographic pieces from the late 1960s and early 1970s (Room 7) which have not been exhibited since that time.
