Luke Fowler's work often investigates counterculture. To date he has made three films each profiling radical thinkers. The work he is showing in the Triennial, Pilgrimage from Scattered Points focuses on the English composer Cornelius Cardew, whose avant-garde orchestra celebrates the view that 'anyone can play'.

By using found footage, first-person interviews, archival materials and reinterpretations of original texts – Fowler examines the contradictions and conflicts that developed within the orchestra. His film experiments with a documentary style to reflect the nature of his subjects and his own involvement in their representation.
