Frank Cohen has been passionate about collecting for most of his life. He began buying modern British art in the late 1970s, facilitated by his success as a major retail entrepreneur; this has recently enabled him to focus entirely on collecting contemporary fine art.

Cohen's activity as a collector began almost three decades ago with the purchase of a painting by LS Lowry. The Frank Cohen collection now includes work by artists from all disciplines, and lends to exhibitions all over the world. Its diversity reflects an individual and eclectic taste, very much informed by personal interests and experience.

Frank Cohen is currently working towards opening a museum or foundation so that his collection can become an important cultural resource.
