Interested in film? Architecture? How about theatre? Performance? Or even Geography? Tate has them all over the next month. Read on to learn more about our upcoming events.

On 14 November, Tate Modern will be Talking Art with filmmaker, artist and writer Harun Farocki.  Known for his films ‘against the cinema and against television’, we’ll be talking with him about images and their use in society, war, revolution and the discrepancy between ‘official’ events and what’s really going on. Tickets cost £9 or £5 for concessions.

Wednesday 4 November brings Doreen Massey: Geographies of Difference to Tate Britain. Come and participate in the discussion as Professor Massey redefines notions of ‘space’ and ‘place’ to give them new meaning in a globalised world. Tickets are £7 (£5 concessions) and include drinks after the lecture.

A day earlier, on Tuesday 3 November in the vast expanse of the Turbine Hall at Tate Modern, Israeli artist Keren Cytter will combine film, lights, language and choreography to form History in the Making – his new live theatre piece. One morning, his two protagonists awake to a radical gender change, with profound repercussions. Don’t miss out on the chance to see this original and playful work:

On Friday 13 November, James Hamilton dives into Turner’s world, examining his 1819 exploration of the Vatican Museum. In the Tate Britain lecture JWM Turner: An Artist’s Pursuit of Invention, Dr. Hamilton will dissect and discover the motivation behind hundreds of Turner’s drawings of sarcophagi and classical remains.  Join the author of Turner: A Life of Discovery and uncover the mysteries together. Only £5 per ticket.

Finally, on Monday 16 November, Sir John Sorrell, chair of CABE, dives into one of the most pressing questions facing architecture today: What happens to creativity in a recession? In Tate Modern’s lecture Architecture in an Age of Anxiety, Sorrell will seek to answer the question and explore what it means for us both socially and culturally. Tickets are just £9 (£5 conc).
