My name is Oli Cowling and I am part of the photography team working on the Archives & Access project. Over a series of three posts, I want to share with you some of the highlights I’ve been working on
Josef Herman - Ystradgynlais
Herman’s drawings and watercolours shown here are of the Welsh mining village of Ystradgynlais dating from 1944-1955. The watercolours especially emphasise what the living and working conditions were like for these people with the coal tips ever present towering over the village.
