Two weeks ago saw the start of Matthew Jukes' prestigious 100 best Aussie wines roadshow here at Tate Britain.
Always one for the diary, the evening didn’t disappoint with over 130 people in attendance and a record seven Aussie winemakers who made the trip across the hemisphere, Matthew himself and our resident wine expert Hamish Anderson.
Although I was working at the event, I managed to find some time to sneak off and do some tasting myself. Having the winemakers there was a real treat and gave novices like me a proper chance to learn about what I was tasting and pick up some good advice – I have kept my notes as revision so as to appear oh-so-knowledgeable at my next dinner party.
Having viewed the Rre-Raphaelite exhibition previously, I kept my attention focused on the wine that evening. However many smiling faces drifting in and out of the doors would suggest that it is still failing to disappoint.
Leaving with a very happy smile on my face I quickly signed up to “work” the next event on the 9 October, after all it’s educational! Everyone needs to know about Norwegian craft beer surely?!
