Meet 500 years of British Art with Curator and Head of Displays, Chris Stephens as he gives an introduction to the chronological rehang of artworks at Tate Britain.

The idea of the chronological circuit is very simple; it is just to present the history of British art in the order it was made to dispense with traditional art historical constructs and simply show the art in the order that it was produced. From 1540, the earliest painting in the Tate collection, right up to the present day from work made in the last year or two.
