And while we’re on the subject, let’s not forget actions such as walking under ladders, putting up your brolly indoors; putting new shoes on the table; avoiding cracks in the pavement, touching wood, crossing your fingers… and four-leafed clovers, broken mirrors, black cats, magpies and the early hits of Stevie Wonder.
