As part of Activations, The Fate of Performance is a conversation between Adrian Heathfield and the renowned art theorist Amelia Jones, whose work on Body Art has expressed the vital political potential of some of the most challenging live artists.

Their dialogue will bridge the gaps between theory and practice and move around some of the key philosophical and political questions for the future of performance. How determined is performance? And who determines it? Building on the legacy of 2003’s extraordinary Live Culture event at Tate Modern, this day of talks and unusual presentations launches two new Tate initiatives: the publication Live: Art and Performance, edited by Adrian Heathfield, and Joshua Sofaer’s The Performance Pack. A collaboration with the Live Art Development Agency.
