Artist Ragnar Kjartansson will present his work in the BMW Tate Live Performance Room on 24 October 2013 at 20:00GMT

Ragnar Kjartansson will combine the corporeal with the theatrical in his new online performance work, Variation on Meat Joy which draws inspiration from Carolee Schneemann’s ground-breaking performance Meat Joy 1964.

The artist will transformed the Performance Room into a Rococo dining room, with lavishly dressed actors seated at tables, each one eating a steak. Microphones will amplify the sounds of each performer eating, which will draw focus to the normally neatly-veiled animalistic nature of the everyday act of eating.

Please join the Performance Room to see the performance and join the live Q&A with Ragnar Kjartansoon after the performance.
