From Market to Breakdown, Michael Landy is best-known for his vast installations. His work questions the mechanics and contradictions of modern living and reflects the conventions of contemporary sculpture.

His dedication and methodical working process are unique amongst his generation of British artists and his newest work, Semi-detached, is no exception. Landy has rebuilt his parents’ home, the one his father hasn’t left for 27 years, and has incorporated two new film works and a soundtrack. Evocative, melancholic and precise, the work is rumination on memory and identity, value and worth. Tonight Landy will take part in the British Artist’s Talk for British Art Week. Part of British Art Week.
