Conditions of Use of Tate forums

These Conditions of Use apply to all users. By using any Tate forum you agree to abide by the following Conditions of Use.

The Tate forums are operated on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Tate Gallery ("Tate"). For more information about Tate, visit www.tate.org.uk/about/theorganisation

Tate does not usually moderate any of the material posted on Tate forums (which may include without limitation opinions, statements and third party material) or accessible through them (the ‘Contributions’). Tate is not responsible for screening, monitoring or verifying any of the Contributions, including their accuracy, reliability or compliance with copyright and other laws. Furthermore, Tate is not responsible for monitoring, verifying or disproving the identity of any contributor to the forums, apart from those users specially displayed as special contributors. Any opinions, statements and other third party content contained in the Contributions are those of the respective author(s) or distributor(s) and not of Tate. Tate does not endorse any of the Contributions.

Tate reserves the right to remove, or disable access to, any Contribution which in the opinion of Tate:

contains strong language;
is or may be defamatory, abusive, unsuitable or inappropriate;
breaches third party privacy rights;
breaches or may breach third party rights including intellectual property rights;
contains commercial or advertising content; or
otherwise breaches these Conditions of Use or is otherwise unlawful.

Tate may also remove old messages to keep these forums current.

When Tate considers that a particular Contribution falls foul of the above standards, Tate may, at its discretion, take such action as it deems appropriate against the relevant contributor. In particular, but without limitation, Tate may take the following actions:

immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal of the contributor’s right to use any Tate forum;
immediate, temporary or permanent removal of any Contribution already posted on any Tate forum;
legal proceedings against the contributor in particular for the reimbursement of all costs (on an indemnity basis) incurred by Tate resulting from the contributor’s actions or omissions; and/or
disclosure of information to law enforcement authorities as Tate feels is reasonably necessary or as require by law.

Tate may in future wish to reproduce or store (by any means or any media) some of the Contributions. In order to facilitate this, you agree to grant Tate the non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free right to reproduce, modify, edit, publish and distribute any of your Contributions. Tate reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to choose to include or not include such Contributions for any such use.

You must own all rights to any material that you submit as part of your Contributions. In no event may you submit any material protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright owner. You agree that if you do submit such material, you must state the source. Please follow the link at the bottom of forum pages for our copyright notice, which details restrictions on reproducing content in these forums.

If you wish to complain about any Contribution posted on any Tate forum, please contact us at webmaster@tate.org.uk. We will then review the relevant Contribution and decide whether it breaches these Conditions of Use. If so, we will take appropriate action as set out above. We will inform you of the outcome of our review within a reasonable time of receiving your complaint.

Tate may amend these Conditions of Use at any time and without notice to you. You are expected to check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes, as they are legally binding upon you.
