Lucian Freud
Lucian Freud is arguably Britain's greatest living realist painter. Sustaining an extraordinary career over more than sixty years, he continues to be one of this country's most critically acclaimed and popular artists. His exhibition for Tate Britain will be the first retrospective of his work to be held in London since 1974 and promises to be his most important exhibition. Bringing together key works from his entire career, including paintings, drawings and prints, it will provide an exciting opportunity to see Freud's exceptionally productive period of the last twenty years in the context of earlier decades.
