Pre-Raphaelite Vision: Truth to Nature
This exhibition is devoted to the revolutionary approach to landscape painting introduced to Britain in the 1850s by a group of young
artists known as the Pre-Raphaelites.
It shows how the landscapes of John Everett Millais, William Holman Hunt, Ford Madox Brown and others were not only fired by a passion
for the natural world, but also deeply rooted in the scientific and religious ideas of the day, and the theories of John Ruskin.
