The EY Exhibition: Late Turner – Painting Set Free

We’ve put together some top tips for Members to ensure you make the most out of your visit to Tate

The great thing about membership is that there is no need to book in advance. You can keep coming back to your favourite exhibition as many times as you like!

Best times to visit

The Galleries are quietest at opening times. Many tourists and families visit over half-terms and holidays.

Sometimes popular exhibitions can become busy – particularly the opening and closing two weeks of an exhibition. If this isn’t what you’re after, it’s best to visit exhibitions mid-run or on a weekday. Also watch out for our early opening hours for Members.

Take a look at the special Members’ hours for The EY Exhibition: Late Turner – Painting Set Free.

Similarly, everyone seems to congregate in the first room of an exhibition. If you are struggling to see anything, strike out from the crowd and start at the end and work your way to the beginning.

Planning ahead

Watch out for the Member’s monthly e-bulletin which hand-picks the very best of Tate’s programme to make sure you are well informed about everything that is going on.

Plus, you’re the first to receive Tate’s Guide every other month. The Guide gives you a useful head start about what’s on – look out for the handy pull-out section in the middle which gives you a nice overview.

Members Events

Tate Members have their own area on the website with useful information about exclusive Members events.

We open exhibitions early and late, offering a different visiting experience and designed exclusively for Members – information about these will be found in the Guide, e-bulletin and website.
