What We Did
We looked at our school environment, our local area and the town of Chesterfield. We began by thinking about what Chesterfield means to us and drew concept maps. Then we chose artefacts for a class museum about Chesterfield. We also looked closely at our school building and grounds and made some sketches of the different areas and habitats. We visited Highfield Park, near our school, and thought of different words to describe it, drew pictures, and came up with some plans about how to improve it. We went into the centre of Chesterfield to visit the Crooked Spire, a famous landmark, as well as the Tourist Information Office.
