Miss Anyan's after-school art club, Year 7-8-9

The activities were done with our after school art club. We went into Woolston to do some sketching of the local area using oil pastels and pencils. This enabled us to draw from observation and choose the viewpoint we wanted to draw from. We also tried to draw our houses from memory and then from observation and compare the two outcomes.

Final Thoughts

Students: We really enjoyed going out into Woolston and drawing the feather and the Itchen bridge. It was nice to do some artwork out of the classroom and we were really pleased with the results. It was great to put the artwork into PowerPoint and make a presentation on what we had done because it made us feel really professional!

In future we would like to do more projects like this, it would be good if they were longer and we had more time.

Teacher: The project is a great idea for engaging students with British art, the British landscape and also interaction with other schools.
