About this artwork
Bryan Pearce had a very special view of St Ives.
He lived and worked here all his life and his paintings often depict beautiful views of the town, harbour and other special nooks and crannies that he discovered.
This is a view of Barnoon Cemetery looking out over Porthmeor Bay.
Tate St Ives is just tucked in front of the cemetery now but when Bryan painted this view the Gallery wasn't there yet!
It's a very quiet picture; there are no people in it and the sea and sky are calm.
Why not try putting yourself in this picture?
Where are you going - perhaps to catch that boat?
