Learning Objectives

  • To introduce pupils to Tate Modern, its display and approach to showing art.
  • To engage pupils in looking at and discussing contemporary art in the gallery environment.
  • To expand pupils' understanding of art history, and consider the museums role in our interpretation of art history.
  • To facilitate understanding as to how meanings are fluid and changeable, as explored by Surrealist artists.
  • To gain a tactile understanding as to how objects can be transformed through minimal interventions.
