Discuss as a group the general similarities and differences between both museums/galleries eg. Chronological vs thematic hang, general atmosphere etc.

Location: at Tate Modern

Learning Objectives

To draw a comparison between the context of artworks at two different galleries (Tate Modern and the Courtauld Institute Gallery)
To discuss how context can affect experience
To recognise museums/galleries such as Tate and the Courtauld Institute Gallery as institutions, and institutions as a subject matter / site of play for many artists, and explore reasons why.
To become familiar with the concept and mechanics of 'intervention'.
