Adult course
Mark Rothko: The Seagram Murals
Led by Judith Walsh
Saturday 7 November 2009 – Saturday 7 November 2009, 10.00–16.00
This one day course offers students the opportunity to study Mark Rothko’s Seagram Murals, a commissioned series of paintings originally intended for the Seagram Building in New York. The course will use these late works as a starting point to trace Rothko’s relationship with American Abstract Expressionism and his attempt to communicate human emotions through painting.
