Thomas Ruff used a Minolta Montage Unit to make pictures for his other portraits series. He started out reconstructing faces but soon found it more interesting to create faces that do not, but could conceivably exist.

Using two of your own images, you too can create a montage photograph online using our easy Thomas Ruff Montage Maker. Results can be varied, but the best montages will come from face-on portrait photos, where your images at least 200 pixels wide or 400 pixels high.
