William Blake: Wild Thing

Thursday 26 February 2009, 18.00–21.00

William Blake was an artist, poet and philosopher. Fiercely independent with a vivid imagination, his radical viewpoints on culture and nationality such as feminism and the slave trade are still relevant today. This Late at Tate revives the spirit of Blake with free performance and printmaking events inspired by Blake.

Performance: Blake Reinvented

A blend of theatrics, dance and fashion based on the works of William Blake.

As part of Find Your Talent, members of Young Tate, in collaboration with Art and ESOL students from Liverpool Community College, present a mesmerising mix of fashion and performance based on their contemporary interpretation of the Blake display. In collaboration with Everyman Youth Theatre. Lighting design by Itamar Houri (LIPA).
