Kasimir Malevich, Dynamic Suprematism

Kasimir Malevich (1878—1935)
Dynamic Suprematism
1915 or 1916

Purchased with assistance from the Friends of the Tate Gallery 1978

This was a highly important acquisition as this pioneer of abstraction is not well represented outside of Russia. As is typical with Suprematism, non-figurative geometrical forms appear to be floating, creating what Malevich described as the sensation of infinity.
