How has photography engaged with the flux of people, matter and imagery that combine at street level? This workshop examines the different ways in which image makers have used photography to explore social interaction, consumption, waste and the contradictions that form the dynamics of street life. Whether by creating photographs or collecting ‘found’ imagery from street debris, a fascinating history of artists' relationships with street photography is revealed. Between the two sessions participants are asked to take and collect a number of photographic images, which provide the starting point for an exchange of thoughts about what street photography means to us today.
