In 1980s Paris, teenagers began spraying their names onto city walls, inspired by what was happening in New York. They became known as 'writers'. As a former writer, director Marc-Aurèle Vecchione was able to gain unprecedented access to this closed world. He reconstructs the history of writing and gives us insight into its aesthetics and politics.
