This special screening includes newly edited two-channel versions of two iconic Paul McCarthy video projects.

Class Fool (1976) is an early video shot during a performance by McCarthy in a classroom at the University of California, San Diego. A controversial performance that helped establish his reputation, it features many McCarthy trademarks: confrontational self-abasement, spattered ketchup and Barbie dolls. Members of the audience include prominent artists including David and Eleanor Antin, Guy de Cointet, Martha Rosler and Alan Sekula.

Not previously seen in London, F-Fort (2005), shot in the English Garden of Munich's Haus der Kunst, features a cast of German actors dressed as late-1800s American cavalrymen. Male bonding buffoonery ensues in a plywood set of a western fort.

Programme duration 90 min

Presented in conjunction with a season of McCarthy's videos on tank.tv and the display of McCarthy's installation Projection Room.
