Programme duration approx 60 min

This is the UK premiere of Charles de Meaux’s new film, which features psychedelic New York rock band Secret Machines. The film is shot in Marfa, Texas, a town known internationally not only for Donald Judd’s Chinati Foundation, but also for its rich history of unexplained supernatural phenomena.

Tracking the Secret Machines' arrival and rehearsal time in a disused Marfan restaurant before gearing up to put on a concert, the film features conversations with locals on the rise in popularity of the town. Synonymous with the mysterious local light formations for which no satisfactory explanation has yet been forthcoming, as well as with art lovers, Marfa brings to bear a diverse range of influences which the band seek to tap into.
