Blow Up
Michelangelo Antonioni, UK 1966, 110 min
David Hemmings stars as a fashion photographer caught up in the whirl of ‘swinging London’. Loaded with iconic images, Blow Up is a fascinating depiction of the era but is also a meditation on the nature of photography and human perception. Scenes of fashionable excess unravel into a murder mystery which may or may not have taken place.
