The Affairs of Anatol
Salvador Dalí greatly admired Cecil B DeMille’s films. The Affairs of Anatol is based on a play by Arthur Schnitzler, a close friend of Freud who shared many of his ideologies. Captivating, peculiar and slightly risqué for its time, DeMille's decadent all-star revue features Wallace Reid as a liberator of ‘loose women’ who leaves wife Gloria Swanson behind to search for new romantic vistas.
