El Segundo Aire (Second Chance)
Fernando Sariñana, Mexico 2001, 100’, subs
El Segundo Aire is a romantic comedy. Moises is a property developer, though he is most interested in lying in bed watching football on TV. To escape her dull marriage and tedious job, his wife, Julia, begins an affair with one of her students, an idealistic young environmental activist. The affair forces the married couple to contemplate the lost dreams and aspirations of their youth, and the possibility of reigniting their marriage.
