Teenage best friends Tenoch and Julio are spending the summer together while their girlfriends go on holiday to Italy. At a family wedding they meet an older woman, Luisa. In an attempt to impress her, the friends tell Luisa that they are going on a road trip to a fictitious beach. Intrigued and hoping to escape her own unhappy circumstances, she asks if she can join them and so begins Alfonso Cuarón’s hilarious, vivid and sexually charged road movie.
