Amrita Sher-Gil was one of India's most renowned artists. Born in 1913 to a Hungarian mother and Sikh father, she spent time in Europe and India, but it was in India that her work made the most impact. Introducing a new display of her work, Assistant Curator of Public Programmes, Caroline Brimmer explores Sher-Gil's fascinating life and her importance to the development of Indian modern art.
