Monday 22 October 2007, 18.30–21.00

On the occasion of the major survey of Louise Bourgeois’ work at Tate Modern, Gilda Williams, author of The Gothic (MIT Press/Whitechapel, 2007), leads a gallery talk in which she considers Bourgeois as a contemporary Gothic artist whose uniquely autobiographical work encompasses such essential Gothic themes as haunted places, ghosts of the past, transgressing females, a family secret and the body in fragments. The exhibition is open for a private view afterwards.
