Tate Conservator Trish Smithen gives a talk on Cy Twombly’s Four Seasons 1993–4. She explains how these huge canvases, layered with different types of paint, graphite and oil, were created and the problems they pose for conservators. Microscopic images reveal the artist’s characteristic drips, strokes and marks on these beautiful paintings.
