Albers and Moholy-Nagy
Curator's Talk

Friday 31 March 2006, 18.30–19.30

The exhibition Albers and Moholy-Nagy: From the Bauhaus to the New World juxtaposes two major representatives of mid-twentieth-century, central-European Modernism. In different ways, Josef Albers and László Moholy-Nagy exemplify Modernism’s Utopian commitment to the spirit of the new, whether in politics, art or technology. Achim Borchardt-Hume, the curator of the show, explores the nature of that commitment and the relationship between these two distinctive, yet complementary, art practices.
