The Stars Before We Herd Them into Conversations...

Saturday 2 July 2005, 14.00–18.00

To coincide with the Open Systems: Rethinking Art c.1970 exhibition, the artist Alec Finlay has created a seating plan in Tate Modern's Turbine Hall that maps the stars in the night sky. This provides the setting for a series of constellated conversations which anyone can join. Twelve artists have been invited to talk about the star that means most to them – a person who illuminated their lives and is now absent – and in turn invite visitors to Tate Modern to share their own stars. All are welcome.
