Alice Rawsthorn on Moholy-Nagy
Josef Albers and László Moholy-Nagy experimented with a wide range of media and technologies. Both have also had a major influence across many areas of cultural practice including painting, photography, film and design. This is the first of three talks, held in the exhibition after hours, which feature leading practitioners and experts from various fields discussing the significance of Albers and Moholy-Nagy for them. The culture of the Bauhaus school, where both artists taught, valued design at least as highly as art. Design commentator Alice Rawsthorn talks about the impact of Moholy-Nagy on modern design.
