Gilda Williams on Jeff Wall

Friday 11 November 2005, 18.30–19.30

Gilda Williams is a lecturer in contemporary art at Sotheby's Institute of Art, London. From 1994–2005 she was Editor and Commissioning Editor (from 1997) for Contemporary Art at Phaidon Press, where she worked closely with Wall on both the first (1996) and second (2002) edition of his Contemporary Artists series monograph. Williams gives a talk in the Jeff Wall: Photographs 1978–2004 exhibition which explores the ideas and sources behind his art, looking closely at recurring themes which run throughout the work. Williams also writes criticism for TATE ETC., Art Monthly, Parkett and many other art journals.
