I went for a walk, about 10km from Portrush, Nothern Ireland, to the Giants Causeway. For about 5km you walk along an extremely narrow path with a 250 foot drop to the sea from the white cliffs (much more impressive then the causeway itself).
The wind was strong that day but I really didn't care. When I got about a third of the way I thought it was too much, the wind was really strong and the path narrowing but I felt I had passed the point of no return, so I went on. About halfway along, the path seemed to disappear and I had to hang on to a piece of wire that stood as a fence.
The spray of the water was hitting me in the face and all I could do was hang on to the piece of wire and face the elements. It was one of the most amazing feelings ever, I could have died. When I eventually made it to the other side I found the path at the Giants Causeway end had been 'closed due to dangerous winds' .
