Weather stories
It was a Sunday and my friend Chrissie was going
to come to my house in the country to plant some trees and
have a barbecue. The weather was absolutely lovely until about
12 noon. A strong wind came up which brought the message of
a thunderstorm coming up. One hour later the sky was dark
with clouds and we heard a rumbling coming closer and closer.
We have a huge pylon running across our land just 20 metres
away from the house that started to make funny noises as the
air got dense with electricity.
Chrissie and I were standing
in the door watching the spectacle when suddenly the clouds
broke open and released tons of water. Chrissie got so overwhelmed
with this weather that she started jumping around singing.
She was drenched within seconds, she danced and danced not
realizing the danger she was in. With a deafening noise a
lightning hit the pylon, rushed down the sides and split the
ground open. Millions of sparks rained down to the earth.
Chrissie screamed with fear and ran in panic towards the door.
Her legs were trembling for hours as we sat in candlelight
waiting for it to be over.
