Study days for adults

Naumania   Saturday 20 November

Nauman was one of the first artists to explore the full range of media, materials and ways of working opened up by radical art practice in the 1960s. Exploring speech, slogans, and the materials of everyday life, he has moved effortlessly between photography, drawing, text, video, performance, sculpture and installation. This study day will trace key developments in Nauman's practice, focusing on his distinctive uses of absurdity, ambiguity and anxiety. There will also be an opportunity to consider the critics' and publics' responses to the new commission at Tate Modern.
